Zakaria Abdi Hashi Director of Employment and Job Creation Department Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Somalia My name is Zakaria Abdi Hashi, and I currently serve as the Director of the Employment Department and Job Creation at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Federal Republic of Somalia. In this role, I am responsible for overseeing and guiding national strategies aimed at job creation, workforce development, and labour policy implementation. My work is focused on supporting Somalia’s efforts to reduce unemployment, strengthen vocational training, and empower young people and jobseekers with the skills they need to succeed in today’s economy. I am passionate about building systems that connect people with meaningful employment and creating pathways that foster long-term economic stability. I collaborate closely with government agencies, private sector partners, and international organizations to ensure that our employment services are efficient, inclusive, and impactful. My goal is to contribute to a Somalia where every individual has the opportunity to work, grow, and support their community.
