My name is Md. Mahabur Rahman. I was born in the district of Rajshahi in Bangladesh on 24th of January 1989. I have completed my LL. B. (Hon's) and LL. M. from the Department of Law at Islamic University, Bangladesh. Preior to joining my current organisation as legal Officer, I was an apprentice lawyer at subordinate court of Bangladesh and gather knowledge of how to file a suit or case in the courts of civil or criminal in nature as well as judicial procedures. In my present organization, I had the opportunities to thrive my knowledge on grievance mechanisms, industrial relations, international labour standards, green jobs and environmental sustainability, occupational safety and health, decent work, Human Rights Due Diligence -HRDD and Responsible Business Conduct -RBC, Sustainable Development, labour laws and rules, UNGP, labour rights, ILO Conventions ,Recommendations and Protocols, TCC, ILO- GB and International Labour Conference -ILC. Mousumi Nishat Shimul is a trade union activist of the National Federation of Bangladesh. She is the Education Secretary of the central committee and General Secretary of the women's committee of Bangladesh Mukto Sramik Federation (BMSF); this federation is affiliated with the International Trade Union Confederation—ITUC. She also holds the position of Vice Chairman of the women's committee of the South Asian Regional Trade Union Council—SARTUC. She is the youngest member of the ITUC-BC Women’s Committee. Currently, she is employed at the only labour institute in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies-BILS, holding the position of an officer. She is also a member of the Labour Reform Commission's Committee on Women Workers' Rights of Bangladesh's Interim Government.
