Welcome

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the International Training Centre of the ILO, it is my pleasure to announce the launch of the Centre's Network of Former Participants (Alumni Network).

The Alumni Network - which is organized on a regional basis - will serve a number of purposes, namely:

• it will be a practical platform for continued interaction between the Centre and its former participants and between the former participants themselves. It will also serve to keep the alumni community up to date on developments at ILO Turin;
• the Network will be a useful tool for spreading the ILO message and promoting the Centre's activities knowing that many individuals who attend or have attended Turin Centre training programmes occupy key positions in their respective governments, workers' and employers' organizations;
• the Network will also facilitate mobilization of a resource base of expertise in ILO fields of interest and social and economic development which the Centre can gainfully use to support its training activities and capacity building initiatives.

I sincerely encourage you to take active interest in keeping in touch with other colleagues from the network and with the Centre.
