What former participants say…
Meng Yaun, 2010
“Congratulations on 45 years of development training. I am proud to be a former ICT-ILO participant. I discovered a new style of learning there. I really liked Turin and enjoyed sharing my professional experience with my colleagues. I also learned a lot from them”.
Meng Yaun, 2010
Agustin Ibarra Mendoza, Venezuela, 2010
“Studying and living in Turin in 2007 was both a personally pleasant and enriching experience. Regards from Venezuela to staff and my colleagues from all over the world who took part in the training offered by the ITC”.
Agustin Ibarra Mendoza, Venezuela, 2010
Mahmoud Salah Amin, Egypt, 2010
“I also took part in ITC training in 1990 and I will never forget how useful it has been for me and my country. What I will remember the most is the great friendships that started there”.
Mahmoud Salah Amin, Egypt, 2010
Stephen Rathai, South Africa
“We would not have been able to receive the same wealth of information from different speakers at another institution. We should always cherish what we have learned from each other. To my new friends of different nations and races, who are all one people, I say: what united and brought our hearts together is our common humanity. We all share the common values of love, respect and human dignity, regardless of our origins. I have learned a lot about the systems in your countries but most of all, I have made friends from all around the world. I really miss your laughter and friendship. The faces of each of you and the image of our group will always remain in my mind. If destiny and time permit, I hope to see you all again”.
Stephen Rathai, South Africa, 2008
Mariam Sock, Gambia, 2008
“I benefited from a lot of the experiences from different countries and different cultures. We were a real family during our stay in Turin. Let's share the information we have among ourselves in future efforts”.
Mariam Sock, Gambia, 2008
Alicia Paz, Honduras, 2010
My name is Alicia Paz. I am a former participant of the International Training Centre of the ILO, from Honduras.
My experience at the Centre was marvellous. I learned a lot, especially about using ICT to boost learning. Everything I learned has been used in the project and improved with new techniques. It has been a success in terms of achieving sustainability. Congratulations to the team on the new technology they applied. Greetings to the whole team and to those in the 2010 team.
Alicia Paz, Service Programme Coordinator, Honduras Sustainable Development Network, Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
John Payne, Bermuda, 2010
Attending the course in Turin has resulted in some very beneficial networking. Bermuda is making strides regarding awareness and now we will be introducing employment legislation. This has enabled both the Human Rights Commission and my Office to work together to promote employment rights for those with disabilities.
John Payne, from the Bermuda Government’s National Office for Seniors and the Physically Challenged, participated in the course entitled “Labour market inclusion of people with disabilities”, which took place in Turin from 27 September to 8 October 2010.
Jethro Kukimuni, 2011
For your information, we have just held a general meeting of our Complementary Scheme which previously lacked any solid bases. However, through what we learned during our training in Turin, we have been able to carry out both a parametric and thorough reform of the management of the Scheme.
I would like to inform you that our proposals were adopted unanimously. Thus, I have to thank you for the knowledge I acquired which has allowed us to save our Complementary Scheme which was on the brink of closure. I thank you with all my heart.
I wish you success and luck with other programmes

I feel more confident in my work with partners in the protection of migrant workers from labour exploitation. I must say that I enjoyed all the course sessions, including the pre-reading, plenary sessions, clusters and discussions with colleagues and friends outside the classes – as well as the social events. I found the academy to be a unique and wonderful place where I had a chance to learn from the experience and knowledge of experts on international labour migration. The course was also enriched by discussions with participants who had practical experience in labour migration. The course was very well organized and all the ITC ILO staff members were very supportive.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all very much for
your support and for allowing me to have this wonderful experience in Turin. Please also convey my thanks and best regards to all the staff members who provided very good logistical and administrative support for this course. For me, the course has not ended but instead marks the start of a new journey full of ongoing learning and experimentation.

I wrote the annual report on the Disabled People's Organizations Strengthening Project of ADD Cambodia, where I work as a DPOs Strengthening Project Manager. The course has truly helped me to continually train and deliver to my colleagues and 28 DPOs with an almost nationwide distribution, and it has been helpful in enhancing and updating the concept of disability to governing boards and directors of DPOs and local authority leaders.

Remembering the workshop, the final day arrived all too soon. The tools, materials and techniques used during the whole period were very effective. I will definitely be using them again in future training sessions.

I would like to express my gratitude to BIT and all the Centre staff for enabling me to gain something I previously lacked as a result of the course I followed over there, from 3 to 7 October, on “Education for all and the Elimination of Child Labour”. I hope to be able to pass on the message to all resource people with the capacity and means to help eliminate this scourge.
I also hope I shall be able to take part in other training courses at the Centre, for example “Employment Policy, “Information on the Labour Market” or “Local Development”.

Let me take this opportunity to express my thanks and appreciation to you and your colleagues for everything that you did to ensure that the course was successful.
The course enabled me to get a better understanding of the role of International Labour Standards in dealing with labour disputes. It also allowed for interaction and the sharing of knowledge among participants.

A mind-blowing and refreshing experience: I feel that previously I worked without knowing all of what I learnt here in just one week. The atmosphere was also very good. Well done, thank you, ITCILO.
